The Boston Bolts U-15 East/South Shore boys team is a 2021 U.S. club soccer national champion. The squad compiled a 24-3-3 record during its spring season, which concluded with a 5-2 victory in extra time over Charlotte Metro on July 20 in the U-15 Premier Division title tilt.
“It was amazing,” said Bolts East Region director of coaching Don Whitaker. “I’ve been with the Bolts for six years, and this is the first time a regional team has won the nationals. It was a really exciting moment for the kids, the coaches and the club, and we’re really proud of everyone involved.”
The Bolts organization is the oldest soccer club in Massachusetts, having been founded in 1986, and now draws players from several New England states, including Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. The Bolts also have sent a number of players on to the collegiate ranks over their 35 years of operation, with others going on to professional or international play.
