This fall's full-blown return of Division 1 men’s soccer in New England has been a joy to watch.
New Hampshire’s ascent into being a top-five team? Providence firmly back as an NCAA tournament contender? The back-and-forth between A-10 sides UMass and Rhode Island? The Patriot League bounceback from Holy Cross? The list goes on and on.
But the New England-centric lens carries far beyond the region, with local players starring well beyond the six states we call home. In fact, some of the region’s top D-1 men’s talent competes at programs outside of New England.
Enough preamble, though. Here’s a deeper look, Best XI style, at local players who have caught our eye. In typical fashion, we’ve also tacked on a few honorable mentions.
