Two out of 11 NESCAC schools won’t be playing soccer this fall, as Williams announced Monday that students will return to campus without game competition.
The development comes one week after Bowdoin, plus Little East program UMass Boston, announced that their 2020 seasons were cancelled entirely. Williams players could still participate in small- and large-group training sessions, much like youth and professional teams have over the last few weeks.
“Knowing how important athletics is in the lives of many students, we hope to provide opportunities for team engagement,” Williams president Maud S. Mandel wrote in a letter.
