No matter what level, all athletes dream of fairytale endings to their careers, or at least something close to it.
For Cricket Basa, the dream became a potential reality on Nov. 7, 2021.
Basa scored the game-winning goal in the 80th minute for the University of Vermont in its 1-0 victory over New Hampshire in the America East women’s soccer tournament final. The win clinched the Catamounts’ berth in the Division 1 NCAA Tournament.
Basa, who is set to graduate this spring with a degree in exercise science, also had her career-defining, walk-away moment if she wanted it.
