Three NEFC Girls Academy players are part of a historic event at this week’s MLS Next Generation adidas Cup.
For the first time in the tournament’s prestigious history, the competition is featuring a Girls Division, providing a premier platform for top Girls Academy talent to compete on the global stage.
As part of MLS Next’s strategic alliance with the Girls Academy, two GA All-Star teams are competing against a pair of the best international clubs in the world -- FC Bayern Munich and Manchester City FC -- in a round-robin tournament at the U-16 level. The competition began Wednesday and will wrap up Sunday at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., culminating in a championship match.
