The Little East Conference suspended regular-season games and championships for the Fall 2020 semester on Tuesday, becoming the ninth and final Division III conference in New England (counting UAA) not to compete this fall.
It all started with the NESCAC on July 10 and reached this standstill less than three weeks later. Division II teams also won’t have competitive games after the Northeast-10 decision July 17, while 16 of 23 Division I teams have withdrawn as well.
That critical mass, Western Connecticut State men’s coach Joe Mingachos said, made this conclusion seem inevitable. He wishes it was arrived at sooner as “COVID” won out.
