Scott Caldwell grew up Braintree, a Revolution supporter since he can remember.
Caldwell fulfilled an ambition when he joined the Revolution as a starting midfielder in 2013, going on to help the team reach the 2014 MLS Cup final and 2016 U.S. Open Cup final, then capture the Supporters’ Shield last year.
But Caldwell’s playing time decreased under Bruce Arena last season, and he departed for Real Salt Lake as a free agent in the off-season. Caldwell has quickly established himself with RSL, starting the opening two games, a draw at the Houston Dynamo (0-0) and win over the Seattle Sounders (1-0).
On Saturday, Caldwell returns with RSL to face the Revolution at Gillette Stadium.
