When Ryan Combe (York, Maine) visited Akron last weekend, he couldn’t help but notice head coach Jared Embick’s office walls.
There were the jerseys of Zips – defender Zarek Valentin, midfielder Darlington Nagbe and forward Teal Bunbury, to name a few – who now call MLS home. There were MAC championship trophies and hardware from the 2010 NCAA tournament title. Same goes for All-American certificates and other honors.
“It was really cool to see all the program has accomplished,” Combe said.
