While in professional soccer, Scott Rezendes has held a number of roles.
The Warwick, R.I., native worked with the Major League Soccer Players Union in its early stages, then had front-office stints with USL teams Oklahoma City Energy FC and Wilmington Hammerheads. He also spent several years as a domestic scout with MLS club Sporting Kansas City, focusing on the USL and college.
Rezendes never played college soccer or at a high level, but those experiences provided a window into a gap in the professional game.
"Scouting in this country is splotchy, it’s strong in pockets," Rezendes said in an interview with New England Soccer Journal.
