As Revolution II soon enters its second chapter, there are signs of the overall project unfolding as intended.
Back on March 22, New England signed defender Jon Bell and central midfielder Maciel to first-team contracts after that duo spent the 2020 season in USL League One. They’ve joined center back Collin Verfurth, who penned an MLS-level deal last July, captained Revolution II during its inaugural season and should provide the Revolution with depth in 2021.
But arguably the most important piece of Revolution II remains elusive, as an academy player is yet to progress from the reserve environment to competing for Bruce Arena’s team.
