New England Revolution Academy forward Olger Escobar (Lynn, Mass.) has been called up to the Under-17 Guatemalan National Team ahead of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying matches in February.
His team is scheduled to take on Mexico, Panama and Curaçao.
Escobar, 16, joined the Revolution Academy in 2018. He led the Under-17 Academy team with seven goals last fall, including a scissor kick game-winner in his team’s 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps at MLS NEXT Fest in Indio, Calif.
