The New England Revolution Academy returns to MLS NEXT spring action this weekend after the U-15s and U-17s spent 10 days competing in the Generation adidas Cup at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
The premier global youth tournament featured representation from every MLS academy, as well as renowned club academies from around the world. Clubs from 11 countries and four continents competed in U-17 and U-15 tournament play.
Forty teams were divided into 10 groups of four, competing in each of the two age divisions. MLS club seeding was determined by Generation adidas Cup Qualifiers at MLS NEXT Fest in December 2022. Each team played three group matches to determine qualification for the knockout round. Sixteen teams qualified for the winner’s side of the draw, with winning teams advancing to play in a bracket-style elimination format.
