It was a highly successful weekend for club teams from New England at this past weekend’s Jefferson Cup boys showcase in Richmond, Va.
Overall, five teams from the region claimed division championships at the showcase, which was held Friday-Sunday. It's an impressive accomplishment, considering the prestigious annual event featured the top sides from across the country, including from MLS NEXT, ECNL, and U.S. Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues (NPL). Competition was held for U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-19.
There were also more than 200 college coaches in attendance, from Divisions 1, 2 and 3, to scout the talent.
