After Providence fell to Clemson in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament, the college soccer season has officially come to an end for New England's twenty-plus Division 1 programs. This juncture provides an opportunity to take stock of the 2019 campaign, which officially wraps up Dec. 15 in Cary, N.C.
There's plenty to digest, and special attention goes to New England Revolution Academy alumni who are in the college ranks. Many carry aspirations to play professionally one day, whether that be with the MLS side or new USL League One team, Revolution II.
To take stock of those chances, we examined how the season has gone for 15 of the club's top college soccer prospects. While most Homegrown Players now sign straight out of the Development Academy, the college soccer route still makes sense for some.
