The opportunity to play for a men’s soccer national powerhouse and Big Ten program wasn’t a decision that Aidan Sheppela (Brentwood, N.H.) had to think too long and hard about.
"I mean, it was kind of a no-brainer for me," Sheppela said.
Recently, Sheppela, a Class of 2024 forward for Seacoast United MLS NEXT, committed to the University of Maryland. The dynamic striker with a potent finishing touch will join a Terrapins squad that finished the 2022 season at 11-4-5 and is perennially in the national championship discussion.
Maryland, led by longtime head coach Sasho Cirovski, has not had a losing season since 1993 and last won the national title in 2018.
