FC Stars ECNL and Buckingham Browne & Nichols forward Samantha Suplee (Weymouth, Mass.), who verbally committed to Michigan earlier this week, experienced that dynamic first-hand.
Suplee, who's in the Class of 2022, actually began talking with the Big Ten program during her eighth-grade year. That was practically a different era, back before recruits had to wait until June 15 before their junior year of high school to begin such conversations with coaches.
