Division 3 men's soccer is back.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 season never got off the ground. But thanks to vaccination efforts and a societal push to get past this upheaval, an institution of the beautiful game in New England soon returns.
Which teams are contenders? Will another national champion emerge from the region, just like has happened five times between 2014 and 2019?
To help answer those questions and give a sense of what awaits in early September, here's our look at the region's top 10 programs. We've also included several runner-up sides, with the pecking order proving a bit harder to narrow down considering it's been 20-plus months since these D-3 programs last competed.
