The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for Logan Moniz.
The FC Greater Boston Bolts midfielder, one of New England’s best Class of 2026 players, committed to Duke in March, then spent one week training with the U.S. U-17 National Team in Costa Rica. That came after Moniz was named the MLS Next Player of the Month for November, following a nine-goal outburst in six games.
The Assonet, Mass. resident has since returned to the Bolts’ U-17 team as it prepares for MLS Next Flex in May. Before the playoffs, Moniz took some time for a conversation with the New England Soccer Journal about his last month. The 5-foot-7 Moniz detailed why he chose Duke, his experience in Costa Rica, and his goal of playing for the U.S. National Team at the U-17 World Cup in Qatar next November.
