In talking with prep school coaches to preview the 2018 season, nearly every one raved about the attacking talent across the NEPSAC. It's not fluff, either, as Class A and Class B programs are loaded with forwards who are already committed to top Division 1 programs, or are drawing serious interest.
To better gauge who's most impactful, New England Soccer Journal has broken down 15 returners who are primed for big seasons up top. Six honorable mention forwards are also included.
Of note, this is not a numerical ranking and players are listed in alphabetical order by last name. They all had a pivotal role in their school's 2017 campaign, and a separate post of top newcomers to watch for will follow suit.
This all isn't hyperbole, either, as three Gatorade Players of the Year – Jacob Shaffelburg (Massachusetts), Michael Suski (Connecticut) and Ousseni Bouda (New York, national) – called the NEPSAC home in 2017. In club soccer, whether that's in the Development Academy, National Premier League, or ECNL, they also flex their might.
