By just about any measurement, Owen Finberg’s first year as the boys soccer coach at Connecticut-based Woodstock Academy was a major success.
The team finished the 2023 season with a record of 15-0-1 and captured the inaugural Prep Premier League championship with a 3-1 win over Northwood School last fall at the Capelli Complex in Tilton Falls, N.J.
Finberg previously coached at South Kent from 2004-2022, and led the Cardinals to 10 New England championships and multiple national championships. He helped South Kent become a NEPSAC power, capturing back-to-back Class B championships in 2019 and 2021 (there was no season in 2020), and routinely produced top-notch college players and future pros.
