The discussions started a couple of years ago as Revolution investor/operators Robert and Jonathan Kraft surveyed the changing landscape in front of them.
They had a plan in their heads about the future of the club and the infrastructure needs associated with it, but the scene around Major League Soccer prompted some introspection.
Before that point, the anticipated order of operations made sense: Build that long-awaited stadium in the urban core of Boston, and then construct a training complex.
