The biggest takeaway from the quarterfinal round of the NEPSAC girls soccer tournaments? It was good to be the home team.
Higher-seeded teams won every quarterfinal in Class A and Class B. The only road teams that emerged in any of the four tournaments were the No. 5 seeds in Class C (Ethel Walker) and Class D (Hoosac).
That sets up some heavyweight semifinal clashes on Saturday, no bigger than Founders League titans Miss Porter’s and Choate hooking up in Farmington, Conn., with a trip to the Class A final on the line.
