Seven of the eight NEPSAC boys quarterfinals matches in Class A and Class B on Wednesday were decided by one goal.
That included an overtime classic played between two perennial powers, and a penalty kick shootout that led to a seven-seed beating a two-seed.
There were upsets and near-upsets, but both the defending champs in Class A and Class B are on to Saturday’s semifinals.
All in all, it was a compelling and action-packed day of New England prep soccer, as we move toward Championship Sunday at the Brooks School.
