Over the last two decades, you’d be hard-pressed to find New England boys prep soccer teams that have matched the consistent success that Worcester Academy has maintained.
The 2021 season saw the Hilltoppers finish at 15-1-3, with the lone loss coming in the NEPSAC Class A semifinals in a 1-0 double-overtime nail-biter against eventual champ Northfield Mount Hermon.
That prevented Worcester Academy from claiming back-to-back Class A crowns, but head coach James Proctor is very much looking forward to the 2022 season, feeling that his side has what it takes to once again be on the short list of championship contenders.
"We’ll lose some good players from last season, but we won’t lose a ton," said Proctor. "Our goalkeeper comes back, our entire midfield comes back."
