From June 28 to July 2, over 200 club soccer teams from Boys ECNL and National Premier League conferences across the country will convene on Rockford, Ill., for the 2019 ENPL National Playoffs.
Nearly two dozen teams from New England will compete, with the top four teams from the U-14 division and top eight at the U-15, U-16 and U-17 divisions all advancing to ENPL National Finals in Commerce City, Colo. The Illinois event will produce a champion at the U-19 division, which doesn't send teams to the July 11-15 Colorado event. Both draw from various Boys ECNL and National Premier League conferences.
The ENPL playoffs, in their second year of existence, have expanded after mixed reviews their first go-around. Last year, the set-up saw GPS Massachusetts win a U-16 national title over Penn Fusion SA, while NEFC lost the U-19 national title to Ohio Premier.
In 2019, GPS Massachusetts and NEFC again are in prime position to compete for a championship, as they lead the New England contingent heading to Illinois. Let's take a look at which teams qualified.
