Big Ten opportunities don’t often come around for women's soccer players from New England. The conference’s 2020 season, which has since been cancelled, was set to feature a combined 11 local across 14 teams.
But the New England presence will soon grow via the Class of 2022, as NEFC forward Brooke Haarala (Framingham, Mass.) verbally committed to Purdue earlier this week.
Haarala is on their U-19 Girls Academy League team, a group that also includes Class of 2021 standouts like Villanova commit Francesca Yanchuk (Attleboro Falls, Mass.) and Yale commit Ellie Rappole (Winchester, Mass.) up top.
