As the Division 3 NCAA tournament gets underway on Saturday, there are plenty of New England connections to watch for. In fact, 11 teams from the region have made the Big Dance, including Williams, the back-to-back national champion.
But the ties to New England don't stop there, as the 64-team bracket is chock-full of players from the six states we call home. Dozens are serious contenders to feature at championship weekend Dec. 6-7 in Greensboro, N.C.
Here are five local players on teams outside of New England that could turn heads over the next few weeks. Past successes suggest they'll enjoy prominent roles and could be game-changers.
