As the Division 3 NCAA tournament gets underway on Saturday, there will be no shortage of teams from New England to watch for.
After all, a dozen teams from the region qualified and four of the last five championships have been won by NESCAC sides (Amherst, Tufts) from Massachusetts.
But the connections to New England don't stop there, as other contenders from around the country are often led by players with hometowns in the six states we call home.
Ahead of their first-round games, here are five locals outside of New England who should play massive roles as teams build towards championship weekend Dec. 6-7 in Greensboro, N.C.
