Let there be soccer.
It was announced Monday that Major League Soccer and the MLS Players Association have officially approved a new Collective Bargaining Agreement that’ll last through the 2027 season, allowing the 2021 campaign to proceed.
A tentative agreement was reached before an adjusted deadline last Friday, paving the way for ratification by the player pool. A simple majority was needed to reach approval, helping to avoid a lockout and CBA termination ahead of the league’s 26th season.
