BOYDS, Md. -- The U-17 defenders came ready to play at MLS Next Flex.
This crop of players was arguably the most impressive throughout the five-day (May 9-13) tournament at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
With hundreds of college coaches in attendance, the defenders below excelled in 1v1 matchups and also contributed to the attack, showcasing their unique versatility.
The U-17 age group had four teams (IFA, NEFC, Beachside and FC Greater Boston Bolts) representing the region. And three of those teams -- IFA, NEFC and Bolts -- won their group and advanced to the MLS Next Cup Playoffs, combining for an 8-1-0 record.
