As the Middlebury women’s soccer team wraps up the Fall 2020 semester, head coach Peter Kim finds himself looking for silver linings.
The Vermont-based NESCAC program didn’t have a season – the Division III conference cancelled back on July 10, foreshadowing a wave of similar decisions – but they found ways to adapt.
The Panthers still had 22 players on campus and conducted what Kim described as “distanced training” where players were six feet apart, following safety measures amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. They didn’t scrimmage or compete, though uncovered some creative solutions.
