The expectations were sky high for the Natick girls’ soccer team heading into this season, and with good reason.
The Redhawks returned 10 of 11 starters from last year’s MIAA Division 1 title team, they were a consensus pick to repeat and they were ranked No. 12 in the country in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll.
So far, Natick has actually met those lofty expectations. The Redhawks have outscored opponents, 30-3, on their way to a perfect 13-0-1 record. They have two wins over Wellesley and their former coach, Dave Wainwright, including a 1-0 decision on Wednesday. They are No. 1 in the MIAA D1 Power Rankings and they were No. 8 in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll.
