We're in the thick of the MIAA boys soccer season as we hit the stretch run with the postseason looming large.
Before we know it, the end of the regular season will be here on Oct. 30, and the state tournament brackets will be released on Nov. 1. The tournaments are set to kick off on Nov. 3.
Much like last season, Concord-Carlisle remains one of the preeminent forces in Division 1, as does St. John's Prep. The former is gunning for a repeat title. In Division 2, defending champion Oliver Ames is a major factor once again, sitting undefeated. But surging forces like Wakefield and Hingham are looking to unseat the Tigers.
Pope Francis has set Western Mass. ablaze, sitting atop the MIAA's D3 power rankings. Reigning champ Norwell figures to contend as well. Meanwhile, in Division 4, Lynnfield is in good shape once again, looking to repeat even without Dillon Reilly. Division 5 appears to be wide open right now, although defending champion Westport will surely have something to say.
Here’s what we’ve learned so far and what we’ll be looking for before champions are crowned on Nov. 23.
