Two players with strong New England ties were front and center as the U.S. men’s national team beat Trinidad and Tobago, 7-0, in an international friendly Sunday night at Exploria Stadium after a prolonged January camp.
New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner stopped a penalty kick from Alvin Jones in the 66th minute, while Atlanta United center back Miles Robinson (Arlington, Mass.) scored in the 52nd minute during his first USMNT start.
While Turner was only forced into one save, he drew rave reviews from head coach Gregg Berhalter after earning his first cap.
