Early last week, Lumi Kostmayer (Southbury, Conn.) returned home from her second U.S. U-16 girls national team camp of 2020.
This go-around, the Sky Blue - NYSC forward competed in the UEFA Development Tournament during games at St. George’s Park, the home of England’s national teams. Kostmayer, 16, even came off the bench to record a goal and an assist in a 5-0 drubbing of Denmark on Feb. 24.
Primarily a No. 9, Kostmayer is one of the region’s youngest U.S. youth national team players alongside the South Shore Select duo of Ally Sentnor (Hanson, Mass.) and Lilly Reale (Hingham, Mass.), as well as NEFC forward Nicollette Kiorpes (Worcester, Mass.).
