The inaugural Allstate All-America Cup was held Wednesday in Orlando, Fla., and rising seniors from New England prep schools featured prominently.
Chief among them was Loomis Chaffee goalkeeper Jamis Fite (West Hartford, Conn.), who played for Team McBride and earned Man of the Match honors. Fite was joined by Black Rock FC teammates in forward Sammed Bawa (Taft; North Carolina) and defender Mateo Rodriguez (Northwood). Their team also had Rivers striker Aidan Davock (Medway, Mass.) and South Kent defender Hassane Diakho. Bawa, from the Right To Dream academy, served as captain.
They were up against Team Twellman, which featured Northfield Mount Hermon goalkeeper Khamari Culcleasure (Princeton) and Loomis Chaffee forward Akeim Clarke (Windsor, Conn.; North Carolina).
