When Lee Nguyen departed the New England Revolution in 2018, it wasn’t necessarily on the best of terms.
But now the 2014 MLS MVP finalist is back in Foxboro, acquired Tuesday via trade from Inter Miami CF for a fourth-round selection in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft and up to $50,000 in General Allocation Money.
With the Revs in need of a playmaker after Carles Gil had Achilles surgery in early August, the 33-year-old could provide some solutions. Nguyen contributed 51 goals and 49 assists across six seasons in New England, establishing his stateside career after being waived by the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2012.
