Before the 2019 season even began, Boston College head coach Jason Lowe knew he’d have to rework his offense some.
The reason? Two of the Eagles’ presumed starters in the attacking third underwent season-ending surgery, with sophomore Kayla Duran (Woburn, Mass.) and senior Jenna Bike (Trumbull, Conn.) hurting their foot and hamstring, respectively.
“We sort of had to go back to the drawing board after finding out about those two,” Lowe told New England Soccer Journal. “It's good, though. We still have the talent to win games, but obviously it hurts our depth some. In hindsight, fortunately it happened early, so players knew ahead of time that they'd have to step up and fill roles, move things around a little bit.”
