The first U.S. U-18 men's national team roster of 2019 relies heavily on traditional hotbeds for youth soccer talent.
California, for example, saw six representatives called in by U-20 men's national team head coach Tab Ramos. Another two each are from Chicago, Ill., Texas and Washington state.
However, the 20-player camp is not absent of New England ties, as New York City FC U-19 defender Kai Lammers has been called in. Lammers, from Greenwich, Conn., is part of a contingent from The Nutmeg State that travels into NYC for a Major League Soccer pathway in the Development Academy.
