As NEPSAC soccer grows by leaps and bounds, another realm in New England has followed a similar trajectory: junior boarding schools.
Ten are officially part of the Junior Boarding School Association, with students typically enrolled from 6th to 9th grade. A select group – particularly Cardigan, Eaglebrook, Fay, Fessenden and Indian Mountain – is home to quality programs that draw soccer players, both domestic and international, to their campuses.
It’s how you get someone such as Liberian forward Milton Jones, an incoming freshman at Berkshire who previously starred at Fay. Or even midfielder/defender LaZai Outerbridge, a Bermudian who was at Fessenden and will be a sophomore at Taft next fall.
