After the Revolution reached the MLS Cup final for the fifth time in 2014, management should have rewarded coach Jay Heaps with a huge raise and provided big-money roster reinforcements, plus an elite support staff.
I basically proposed those measures in this space nearly three years ago, and urged the Revolution to go all-out to try to win their first MLS Cup. But the Revolution stayed the business-as-usual course and the team spiraled downhill.
