This spring season, New Hampshire is angling to become the first America East men’s soccer team to three-peat as conference champions since UMBC managed that feat across 2012-14.
The Wildcats (1-0) are off to a strong start, beginning Friday afternoon with a 2-1 win at UMass Lowell behind one goal and one assist from sophomore midfielder Rory O'Driscoll, including an overtime game-winner in the 96th minute following a goalmouth scramble.
O’Driscoll also set up a 66th-minute opener from senior forward Victor Menudier, doing busy work in midfield to win back possession and spring the Frenchman on a breakaway that was capped by a deft right-footed chip. Both teams competed for the first time in over 460 days.
