As the 2019-20 club soccer season truly gets underway across New England, a handful of local players are heading to a prestigious tournament.
In all, nine all-star players from the region will compete in the International Champions Cup Futures Tournament from Dec. 11-15 in Bradenton, Fla. There’s also the New England Revolution Academy, which will be one of two dozen U-14 boys teams competing alongside top-level clubs from around the world.
Aside from the Revs, local boys and girls are on various ICC East teams that draw from the Northeast. There’s also an Allstate Sueño Alianza team of undiscovered U-14 Hispanic soccer players at the event, which is organized by Relevent Sports Group.
