Details around the USL Academy League’s inaugural 2021 season are starting to materialize, with the 13-member Northeast Division announced Tuesday morning. That group includes five clubs from New England that’ll each field one team spanning the U-15 through U-19 age groups when games extend from March through November (mirroring the professional calendar).
It ranges from USL Championship side Hartford Athletic to USL League Two clubs like AC Connecticut, Boston Bolts, Western Mass Pioneers and Seacoast United. As for Black Rock FC's group, it's based out of Northwood (N.Y.) and will be accessible to all boys in their club.
The league includes 24 games across three separate three-month periods (spring, summer and fall), and clubs can bring in players from other clubs on a part-time basis. In other words, you don’t need to be a Bolts player to play on their USL Academy League team.
