For the first time in a decade, Connecticut College will have a new men’s soccer coach when taking to the NESCAC fields during the fall of 2019.
Kenny Murphy (Westport, Conn.), after resurrecting the Camels and bringing them to two straight NCAA tournaments, has retired, opening the door for assistant Reuben Burk (Westford, Mass.) to take over.
The move had been rumored around New England soccer circles, with Burk confirming Murphy decided around Christmastime to step away for personal reasons. Murphy stuck around through late May to see Connecticut College’s Class of 2019 graduate, continue with academic mentoring and not leave Burk in the wind. The head coach job officially opened around late March.
