Like a true striker, Oliver White (Belmont, Mass.), did not hesitate when it came time to go for his goal of playing professionally.
After being bypassed by Major League Soccer upon his Harvard career ending in 2016, White contacted former Crimson coach Carl Junot, who had moved to Australia. Within a matter of days, White had moved Down Under to join FC Bulleen in the Victoria State league.
“Carl said the window was closing soon and I had to act fast, but I was more than happy to jump on it right away,” White recalled. “My goal was to play in as high as possible a league but, unfortunately, I didn’t get a lot of interest from MLS. So, my goal was to go somewhere competitive and build enough of a resume to come back to America.”
