Starting April 14, the Dallas Cup will embark on its 40th year of competition.
Since its foundation in the 1970s, the annual tournament has established itself as the premier youth soccer tournament in the United States, with the main event being its U-19 Gordon Jago Super Group. Among entrants there are Liverpool, Arsenal and Villarreal – drawing hundreds of college coaches, professional scouts and agents to the Texan city. This year’s games will even be broadcast on by FloFC, which works with MLS clubs D.C. United and FC Cincinnati.
For the second straight year, Black Rock FC will also have teams in the U-19 and U-17 age groups, sending its residential academy teams from the Northwood School, a NEPSAC affiliate. Additionally, the Boston Bolts will send their U-15 Development Academy team, as coached by Dan Colwell.
