HARTFORD, Conn. -- Dan Gaspar is writing the last chapter of his extraordinary and often nomadic coaching career close to home.
Hartford Athletic hired Gaspar as an assistant and goalkeeper coach on Sept. 30, and after 30 years of mainly working abroad with clubs and national teams, Gaspar wanted to keep coaching, but with a shorter commute from his South Glastonbury home.
"I've had, as you know, a full career, but my goal in life, and soccer, in particular, was I always wanted to go overseas, learn as much as I possibly could and then someday return home and try to share the experience and the wisdom that I've gained at the highest levels," Gaspar told New England Soccer Journal after a recent training session.
