WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The coaching search is over for Hartford Athletic.
The club named American soccer legend Tab Ramos as its new coach on Monday, and with his appointment comes a requisite new level of ambition for the USL Championship side, which has primarily struggled since its 2019 debut.
"There’s a serious commitment to step forward and to create a championship tradition here, and I think that’s something that I’d love to be part of," Ramos said during an introductory press conference at the Mandell Jewish Community Center on Monday
Ramos becomes the fourth full-time head coach in Athletic history, following Jimmy Nielsen (2019), Radhi Jaidi (2020) and Harry Watling (2021-22), who left the club earlier this season.
