Hartford Athletic will have a new head coach at the helm for the 2020 USL Championship season, as the club announced Sunday that they've mutually parted ways with Jimmy Nielsen.
During the club's expansion season, Nielsen led Hartford to a 8-21-5 record as they finished 17th overall (second from last) in the Eastern Conference. His last game on the sidelines was Saturday night, as they club fell, 2-1, in an international friendly against Jamaican club Portmore United FC.
"We would like to thank Jimmy for his contributions to our organization and all his efforts in launching our Club in its inaugural season," said Hartford Athletic Chairman & CEO Bruce Mandell in a team release. "Jimmy has provided the foundation for our club, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors."
